Lueneburg/Kiel. Over 100 utopia camps come from 24th to August 25 across the Republic to explore tomorrow’s prosperity. The camps are part of the Utopia Conference of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, to which the transformation researcher Maja Göpel and the philosopher Richard David Precht invite.
In and around Kiel, four locations offer places for open discussions and a supporting program. In the Transfer Center for Maritime Technologies ( TransMarTech SH) on the sea fish market on the east bank, the use and preservation of the oceans is discussed under the topic “Utopian growth”. At UXMA , the focus is on “utopian understanding”. It will discuss how to capture and visualize the needs of different stakeholders in order to transform public spaces into attractive living spaces for all. On the Anschar campus “Utopian Work” deals with the question of what the bureaucracy of tomorrow can look like and what chances and possibilities the urban space offers as a place to live and work. In the halls of the Waterkant Festival (MFG5 site) with SEEd (by opencampus.sh) Under “Utopian Unfolding” we discussed how school and education can be thought of differently in the future and how students can be supported in discovering and strengthening their own interests and skills.
While the camps track down utopian projects and ideas, the Lüneburg studio’s live program is about how the coming decade could be transformed into a utopian momentum. Maja Göpel and Richard David Precht are looking forward to talks with the former Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser, the journalist Ferda Ataman, the President of the Synod of the EKD Anna-Nicole Heinrich, the Managing Director of Amnesty International Lanna Idriss and the science journalist Eckart von Hirschhausen.
Interested citizens are very welcome to participate in the Utopia Conference. Registration for one of the utopia camps in Kiel is possible until August 15 at www.leuphana.de/utopia .
