MOLA – Modular Ocean Lander Architecture
The project plans to develop a platform for measuring and monitoring seismic, electromagnetic and environmental factors on the seabed.
The aim of the project is to combine various sensors and underwater communication components with algorithms and AI-based real-time analysis and to test them under real conditions until they are ready for the market. Mobile landers have been developed that are no bigger than a camping cool box. These landers can be equipped with various scientific measuring instruments as required and offer a cost-effective and user-friendly alternative to the conventional, oversized launch frames.
Our tasks
We accompany Dr. Jens Karstens during his validation project towards a spin-off as project mentors. We support and advise in particular in the fields of “market research”, “pitch training” and “business model development”.
We initially provided support with a market analysis to obtain an overview of the market for seabed measuring devices and to promote exchange with relevant players. We then carried out a benefit analysis to sharpen the product’s value proposition. On this basis, potential interviewees were selected for qualitative interviews in order to validate key assumptions and gain further insights.
